“Eternal (Aiṓnios) Life” or “Happiness, Peace, and Joy” can be attained RIGHT NOW!

Eternal, everlasting, and forever are all English words that replaced the Greek adjective, aiṓnios.  Aiṓnios is an adjective that is used to describe a period of time by the quality of an age that it relates to.  Aiṓnios does not in any way refer to an “unending period of time that does not have an end” as the English words “eternal” and “everlasting” that replace it do!

[166 (aiṓnios) does not focus on the future per se, but rather on the quality of the age (165 /aiṓn) it relates to. Thus believers live in "eternal (166 /aiṓnios) life" right now, experiencing this quality of God's life now as a present possession. (Note the Greek present tense of having eternal life in John 3:36, 5:24, 6:47 and Romans 6:23.)]

Here are four instances in which “everlasting” or “eternal” life is described in the present tense of having “everlasting” or “eternal” life right now!  The Greek word, aionios, is used to describe the quality or characteristics of a period of time and not the length of a period of time.  So, aionios is really being used to describe the “fruits of living in spiritual life” or “living in happiness, peace, joy, abundance, and prosperity" as Galatians 5: 22 states, "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, and faith."  Aionios is not being used to describe “a time period that has no end” as the English words, “everlasting” or “eternal,” are commonly defined.
John 3: 36 KJV
36He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting (aiṓnios) life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him
John 5: 24 KJV
24Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting (aiṓnios) life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
John 6: 47 KJV
47Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting (aiṓnios) life.
Romans 6: 23 KJV
23For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal (aiṓnios) life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

So what do you believe about the afterlife? Is heaven an eternal place or does it not exist at all?

Clearly, All will receive "life" (happiness, peace, joy, love, etc.). However, everyone will receive "life" (happiness, peace, joy, love, etc.) at different times as Verse 23 states, "each will be made alive in his own turn." Those who receive "life" (happiness, peace, joy, love, etc.) now are referred to at the end of Verse 23 as "those who belong to him."

1 Corinthians 15: 20-28 NIV
20But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. 21For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. 22For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive. 23But each in his own turn: Christ, the firstfruits; then, when he comes, those who belong to him. 24Then the end will come, when he hands over the kingdom to God the Father after he has destroyed all dominion, authority and power. 25For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. 26The last enemy to be destroyed is death. 27For he “has put everything under his feet.”Now when it says that “everything” has been put under him, it is clear that this does not include God himself, who put everything under Christ. 28When he has done this, then the Son himself will be made subject to him who put everything under him, so that God may be all in all.

Here are more verses that talk about the RESTORATION of ALL THINGS:

Colossians 1: 15-20
15He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. 17He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. 18And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. 19For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, 20and through him to RECONCILE to himself ALL THINGS, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.

Acts 3: 21
21Whom the heaven must receive until the times of RESTITUION of ALL THINGS, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.

ALL MEN will be SAVED and will have the knowledge and truth, but some have knowledge and truth now!

1 Timothy 2: 3-4
3For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;

4Who will have ALL MEN to be SAVED and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

Subscribing to this type of theology, what is the point of Jesus's crucifixion? If all are going to go to heaven no matter what, why should Jesus have to suffer for salvation for those who believe?

The following verse is not referring to physical life or physical death. The verse states, "we have passed from death (they never were physically dead) to life (they are already physically alive) because we LOVE." The verse goes on to state, "anyone who DOES NOT LOVE remains in death." Again, these people who "remain in death" are all physically alive so the verse is referring to spiritual death and not physical death.

1 John 3: (13-15)
13Do not be surprised, my brothers, if the world hates you. 14We know that we have passed from death to life, because we LOVE our brothers. Anyone who does not love remains in death. 15Anyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal (aiṓnios or "love, happiness, peace, joy") life in him.

Jesus suffered his crucifixion to show us, as humankind, the ultimate LOVE and to conquer spiritual death which is shown by his resurrection. The verse reads "this is how we know what love is as Jesus laid down his life for us and we should lay down our lives for our brothers." The verse is stating to LOVE our brothers and to not live in anger or hate towards anyone as VERSE 15 states "anyone who hates is a murderer and has no aiṓnios life (love, happiness, peace, joy) in him."

1 John 3: (16-17)
16This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers. 17If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him?

All will be saved from spiritual death EVENTUALLY. However, the people who do not have the knowledge and truth to live in LOVE now, while physically alive on earth, will still have to go through a purification period as they must be purified of the "sin" or "negativity" that resides in their heart or spirit. This purification is what "Gehenna fire" or "Hell fire" represents in the Bible and this will not be a fun period of time for those that will have to go through this purification as 1 Cortinthians 3: (13-15) states, "Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is. If any man’s work survives, then he shall receive a reward. If any man’s work shall be burned, HE SHALL SUFFER loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire."

Again all will EVENTUALLY will have "the knowledge of the truth which is to live in LOVE (1 Timothy 2: 3-4)." If you have the knowledge and truth to live in LOVE now, then you should be thankful! This is the true good news and you should strive to spread LOVE to others through your actions as the majority of the world does not have peace, love, happiness, or joy!

1 John 3: (18-20)
18Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth. 19This then is how we know that we belong to the truth, and how we set our hearts at rest in his presence 20whenever our hearts condemn us. For God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything.

*Obviously, I am not here just to make money and it is not the first goal of my book to make money as my first goal is to spread the knowledge and truth that has been given to me to others that have eyes to see and ears to hear. With that being said, I highly recommend that you purchase the book (the e-book is only $6.95) as the book lays down a foundation that allows points like these to be more easily understood!

I bought the e-book about a month ago and read through it. I have a hard time subscribing to the mindsets from which you write. What I see are verses taken out of context to fit a more acceptable, comfortable gospel. That's why I'm asking questions. I want to go deeper than the surface of the book and hear the heart behind the book. I'm someone who grew up in church, got fed up with the same old status quo, left the church for a year or so in which I was actually against the church, and discovered the truth through personal seeking and praying. So, I'm not coming from some set of religious doctrine but just someone seeking the truth of God according to the ful context of His word.

I grew up in church as well and it seems as if we have gone through similar things as I use to be against and have a lot of hate for the church. Thankfully, I've been the understanding to understand that the people of the church didn't "freely" choose to be unknowledgable and lack understanding just as I didn't "freely" choose to be given knowledge and understanding and this has allowed me to have love for them in the sense that I no longer carry around the anger that I once had for them.

I think it is awesome that you are searching for yourself. Again, you are on a similar path as I once was as I went back and forth for the first few years that I was out of church and just recently (within the last year or so) I gained 100% confidence in my beliefs. I've enjoyed your questions and I would like for you to continue to ask any questions that you may continue to have as they have allowed me to gain a deeper understanding and see things from another intelligent, respectful point of view. I would like to know what specific issue you think I take out of context, why you think this issue is taken out of context, and what your belief is on whatever issue this may be.
